Weekly Processions: Five Sense Parade
Circle the monument and get your senses going. Spark your sight by lining up in rainbow order. Spark your hearing with a personal parade soundtrack via a provided walkie-talkie. Spark your taste, touch, and smell and experience the Monument Circle in a totally fresh way. Processions happen roughly every half hour between 3 and 5 pm. Children welcome! Parade led by artist Rebecca Pappas.

During Spark, the Circle is the launching point for ActiveIndy Tours’ most popular tour - a guided bicycle tour of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail & Historic Neighborhoods! This tour covers 10 miles at a casual pace allowing you to explore downtown while learning about our city's history, architecture, public art & connections to pop culture. Rental bicycles available & advance registration required for this fee-based tour. Get details and sign up here.

Each Sunday, Spark Monument Circle will serve as your launching point to explore Indianapolis through self-guided bike rides developed by ActiveIndy Tours. These tours are the perfect way to get you out and about and exploring Indianapolis. This week's 5.5 mile tour will have you weaving through St. Joseph's Place, the Old Northside, Herron-Morton, and Chatham Arch. Every Sunday at Spark, visit the Cool Bus (a mobile literary arts center) for a word challenge, a place to read, and free books! Explore word games, rhyming challenges, poetic forms, and maybe meet a visiting author. You can also check out the book selection and take a book home for free. The Cool Bus is a program of Word On The Street, a not-for-profit focused on engaging neighbors in reading, writing, and exploring in spaces that inspire imagination and wonder. Be our guest and explore the Wagon of Wonders, a mobile and interactive museum featuring mini-exhibits about Frida Kahlo and Big Foot by artists Beatriz Vasquez and Casey Roberts. Come write to a loved one, friend or stranger on a historical Monument Circle postcard reproduced in conjunction with the Indiana Historical Society. Or you can also draw your own, postage is on us! We'll even mail it for you! Postcards will be out on a table or ask someone at the Welcome Trailer for one at any time we are open.

SPARK hosted over 10,000 visitors who made 2,000 Taylor Swift-themed postcards created by local artists that will be mailed around the world for free, made hundreds of bracelets, got their faces painted, participated in Mary Jo Bayliss’ @andknits’s collaborative art project, enjoyed local music, and more all weekend long.
