ActiveIndy Self-Guided Bike Tour: White River Trail North
Use Spark Monument Circle as your launching point each Sunday for a series of self-guided tours developed by ActiveIndy Tours, which are designed to get you out and about and exploring Indianapolis! This 7 mile ride showcases the Cultural Trail/White River Wapahani Trail connection in White River State Park, leads you down paths surrounded by Indiana's famous, native limestone, and haves you cycling across the Fall Creek suspension bridge. Do you remember those giant parachutes you used to play with during recess or at summer camp? There were different games you could play with them-- cat and mouse, popcorn, or sharks and minnows-- but the best game was played simply when everyone grabbed a handle, raised the parachute into the air, and then ran underneath it and sat inside, creating a giant bubble-like clubhouse. SPARK hosted over 10,000 visitors who made 2,000 Taylor Swift-themed postcards created by local artists that will be mailed around the world for free, made hundreds of bracelets, got their faces painted, participated in Mary Jo Bayliss’ @andknits’s collaborative art project, enjoyed local music, and more all weekend long.
