Kristina Sharpe is a self-producing, classically trained pianist and singer-songwriter who performs classical music, original compositions, and covers.
A lover of all things music, Kristina Sharpe is a recording and performing pianist and singer-songwriter from Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indy native graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in 2009, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in piano from Wittenberg University in 2013.
She has participated in numerous events, including the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) for seven years for solo and ensemble on both flute and piano, multiple talent shows, recitals and concerts, weddings, church performances, graduations, hospitals, retirement homes, and open mics. She now performs frequently around Indianapolis, including being a featured artist for Swish Indy at the Indianapolis Airport, GENCON, Garfield Park, Square Cat Vinyl, State Street Pub, the Little Flower House Concert Series, several SoFar shows, and as a featured artist at Art & Soul in the Indy Artsgarden, to name a few.
Although she has been classically trained for 27 years, Sharpe has a wide variety of musical interests and influences; she enjoys the technicality and expression used by composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninov, yet also feels drawn to sultry, soulful groups like Feng Suave and Hiatus Kaiyote. She has difficulty defining herself as one category, as she has played a wide range of genres from blues to rap. The up and coming artist began composing her own hits in high school, and loves to mix classical pieces or well-known tunes into her own versions. She has written several original works, which can be found with her covers on her YouTube page: YouTube.com/
For the performer, music has become a vital means of expression, healing, and motivation throughout some of the worst and best times of her life. For this reason, she hopes to make a career of composing, singing, and playing music that connects us all through mental and emotional means.
